The rings and rolling elements are usually made of high-carbon chromium bearing steel. Most bearings use CCr15, and CCrl5SiMn with good hardenability is used for bearing rings with large cross sections and rolling elements with large diameters.
Due to different occasions of use, some bearing materials require special properties, such as impact resistance, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and so on.
Carburized bearing steel is usually used for the rings and rolling parts of bearings or large and extra-large bearings that bear impact loads at work. So that it has a dense organization, and the formation of a hardened layer, and the hardness of the central part is low, with good impact toughness of the heart, because the use of carburized bearing steel is very good, its service life is the same as that of high-carbon chromium bearing steel.
For bearings that work at high temperatures, high temperature bearing steel with good heat resistance is used, and for bearings that contact corrosive media during work, stainless bearing steel is used.
It is worth that the cleanliness of the bearing steel, the higher the cleanliness, the less non-metallic inclusions, the lower the oxygen content, the longer the bearing fatigue life.
